At the Sallier de La Tour winery, in the area around Monreale, the harvest began on August 19thand ended on October 7th. After the harvest of the early grapes, the rain cooled off the land, allowing the later-harvest vines to enjoy the humidity necessary to bring grape maturation to a successful conclusion. In particular Syrah, which does not do well in land that is too dry, reached an evolution in terms of quality that we rarely see in this area. Intense colors, good sugar levels, balanced tannins, typical aromatic notes. The selection for the La Monaca wine will surely have great ageing potential. Good quality for Grillo and Inzolia as well, while the Nero d’Avola is refined and well structured.
