The Aeolians: islands of an island - seven volcanic sisters unique in several respects. Viticulture here is a form of economy, the longstanding basis of the agricultural society; an ancient richness for life joined by capers and often thesaline,or salt mines. Aeolian viticulture is considered heroic, as the territory simply does not allow for mechanical agriculture. Tiny and often terraced vineyards of small, family operated estates, a wisdom that has been handed down over time and tradition. The island’s producers are motivated by passion, from the story that they represent and from the agricultural wisdom that they weave. Malvasia Daywas born in this spirit, a network of producers who come together to tell the story of this varietal. Established in 2011 and reaching today its sixth edition, this year brings together thirteen producers from three different islands to the terrace ofCapofaro Malvasia & Resorton Salina.
