Grillo Mozia Tasca d'Almerita Whitaker 88 points

Very deep, almost exaggerated golden-yellow. Varietally accurate grillo aromas of citrus and apple complemented by intense herbal and mineral notes. Rich, supple and surprisingly sweet, but perhaps a bit short in citrussy acidity to give better definition to the pear and truffle flavors. But a very successful wine, made from grapes grown on the island of Mozia and brought back to the mainland via traditional flat-bottom boats that can manage the extremely shallow waters.
