Rosso del Conte 2005 - 91 points

In 2005, Rosso del Conte is a relatively small-scaled version of this Sicilian thoroughbred, yet all the signature notes of dark red fruits, herbs, tobacco and earthiness are present. The wine possesses notable freshness that will allow it to develop beautifully in bottle although it is likely to remain one of the more slander vintages of this wine. Pretty notes of mint and toasted oak linger on the long finish. (…)

Cabernet Sauvignon 2004

The estate’s 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is a gorgeous layered wine redolent of blackberries, cassis, grilled herbs and menthol. A sumptuous, generous, red offering, it reveals tons of finesse in a graceful style, with silky tannins and more than enough freshness and vibrancy to insure at least another decade of very fine drinking. This hillside vineyard produced lovely fruit in 2004 and the wine is exquisite.
