2008 Tasca d'Almerita / Regaleali Bianco
The 2008 Regaleali Bianco is classy and elegant in its perfumed notes of peach, flowers and mint. Medium in body, the wine offers excellent balance and a long, refreshing finish. The Bianco is 40% Inzolia, 30% Catarratto and 30% Grecanico, and is aged in steel. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011.
2007 Tasca d'Almerita / Lamùri
Silky tannins frame a perfumed core of ripe red fruit as the 2007 Nero d’Avola Lamuri opens up in the glass. Raspberries, flowers, smoke and French oak all come together in a refined, polished Nero d’Avola that shows the elegance this native grape is capable of achieving. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014.
2008 Tasca d'Almerita / Leone d'Almerita
The 2008 Leone d’Almerita (80% Catarratto, 20% Chardonnay) is riper and softer than the Bianco. The aromatic profile recalls Sauvignon in its bright, high-toned notes, and the finish is particularly refined. This is another pretty wine from Tasca. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012.
2007 Tasca d'Almerita / Regaleali Nero d'Avola
The 2007 Nero d’Avola Regaleali reveals lovely inner sweetness in its perfumed dark fruit. This medium-bodied, hearty red offers fine overall balance. Notes of mint and flowers give the wine a sense of lift on the finish. The entry-level Nero d’Avola Regaleali is aged in stainless steel. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012
2006 Tasca d'Almerita / Cygnus
The estate’s 2006 Cygnus is a blend of 58% Nero d’Avola and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 14 months in French oak (30% new). These are two grapes that work beautifully together, as is evidenced by this harmonious red.
Dark fruit, earthiness, grilled herbs, blackberry jam and French oak are all woven together in a beautifully balanced
wine of uncommon elegance. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016.
