PALERMO-MONTECARLO 2023
Tasca d’Almerita has sponsored the Regatta since the very first edition: an important event that, across 500 miles, connects two crucial parts of our sea.
The strong bond between the Tasca family and the Mediterranean sea, is once again reinforced during the 18th edition of this prestigious sailing competition.
It’s been an honour to be able to support once again this renowned competition; our support is also driven by our commitment to protect and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of Sicily, as well as to safeguard the precious sea surrounding our island.
A few days after the end of the Palermo-Montecarlo, we are still feeling all the emotions of the past few weeks: from the exciting seconds before the departure from the Gulf of Mondello, to the joyous awards ceremony at the Yacht Club de Monaco.
With almost 50 entries and 44 racing, this edition stood out for the great number of international crews with boats from 11 countries, in addition to the Italian ones.
The much prized Giuseppe Tasca d’Almerita Trophy, born from the passion of Count Giuseppe for sailing, and assigned to the first offshore yacht to reach the finish line, was given to the 100-footer Black Jack owned by the Australian Peter Hamburg. The boat crossed the finish line of Port Hecule in Monaco during a beautiful sunset, at 7:53 pm after 2 days, 7hrs, 3’ 6’’ of sailing.
Sincere congratulations to all the participants!
