Wine & Spirits Top 100
Tasca d’Almerita has been selected as one of the 100 best wineries in the world by the prestigious Wine & Spirits Magazine.
Tasca d’Almerita has been invited to participate in the exclusive Wine & Spirits Top 100 Tasting event to take place in San Francisco at METREON’s City View on 11 October. Wine & Spirits Magazine ranks among the most important magazines in the United States for wine professionals and enthusiasts. With this event, the magazine wants to celebrate the 100 best wineries in the world; the prestigious event reaches its 20th anniversary this year.
The tasting will feature the best wineries from around the world whose wines received the highest scores in more than 300 rigorous blind tastings conducted by Wine & Spirits on more than 9,000 wines throughout the year. The evening offers the opportunity to taste a wide range of exceptional wines and to meet the producers in person. It is also an opportunity to enjoy fabulous food, provided by chefs from leading Bay Area restaurants. Proceeds, as always, will be donated to the San Francisco Baykeeper, an organisation focused on keeping the waterways that support California’s food and wine industry healthy.
The wines that achieved an extraordinary score and that for Tasca d’Almerita will be the protagonists of the evening are Rosso del Conte 2017 and Riserva del Conte 2016. Two wines born from the intuition of Count Giuseppe Tasca d’Almerita, who back in the 1950s imagined producing an extraordinary wine in Sicily, on the Tenuta Regaleali, that could tell the story of his land through two native Sicilian grape varieties. Riserva del Conte, later called Rosso del Conte, was the first single-vineyard wine produced in Sicily. As in his dream, in 2023, his wines will compete with the best wines in the world.
